The new controller is on the hot seat -- not having the practical experience to succeed, and yet needing to recruit, train, and supervise a staff, deal with investors, handle ethics issues, and so on. This book provides the necessary information; it is an extract from the much larger Controllership book, concentrating on key ramp-up activities for the new controller. I have added many tips in boxes throughout the book, based on my experience as a controller.
